The Nave — Privacy Policy
Last updated 20 August 2026
The Nave is a place for prayer and scripture. What you set down there is treated the
way that deserves. This page says plainly what we keep, why, and what we never do.
What we collect
- Your account: an email address (for signing in), a first name or
display name, your language, an age band (never a birthdate), and, if you choose
to share it, a denomination.
- What you write: your conversations with the Guide, reflections,
intentions, and anything you submit to the community wall. These are stored so
the app can hold them for you and are visible only where the app says they are —
a conversation is yours alone; an intention is your household's; a wall request
appears only after a person reviews it.
- Your household: who is in your family group, by display name and
role.
- Activity the app needs: days you have visited, reading and
practice progress, and message counts used for plan limits.
What we do not collect
- No location. Weather in the chapel comes from your time zone, never from GPS.
- No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no selling or sharing of data for
marketing — to anyone, ever.
- No birthdates. Age is a band ("adult", "teen", "child") and nothing more.
- No contact lists, no photos, no tracking across other apps or websites.
Who processes it for us
The Nave runs on a small set of services, each doing one job:
- Supabase — sign-in and the database that holds your account and
what you write.
- Fly.io — the servers the app talks to.
- AI providers (Anthropic, DeepSeek, Google) — when you speak with
the Guide, your message is processed by an AI model to compose the reply, to
check for signs of crisis, and, if you use the spoken features, to render or
transcribe speech. Your words are sent for that processing and the reply comes
back; these providers are not permitted to use your content to train their
models under the terms we use them with.
- RevenueCat and the app stores — subscriptions. We never see your
card details.
Children
Children under 13 cannot hold their own account. A child joins only inside a
family's household, added by a parent, and has no solo conversations.
Safety
If a message shows signs that someone may be in danger, the app responds with
support resources. A minimal record that this occurred (when, and how serious) is
kept for safety review; the aim is care, never surveillance.
Your words remain yours
- You can export what you have written from Settings at any time.
- You can delete your account from Settings. Deletion removes your account and
what you wrote, including your sign-in identity. It is not a soft hide.
- You can take back a community submission whenever you wish.
